The letter that I write this month is not to tell you about all the places we go, things we do, or to have some kind of marketing agenda that will make us look good. Sometimes I feel like Andy Rooney from 60 Minutes when he would talk about the simpler things in life, and there is just too much “hype” about everything. I am not a big fan of marketing, although I know it is a necessary part of being in business. My wife Barbara has always said to me “if you run a good program, the word will spread” One of our greatest compliments came this week from a parent saying, “ I love your web site, it is so real!
This monthly letter, is for me a forum of communication that is meant to open up my thoughts, feelings and perceptions about what we do here.

This month I would like to talk about, “We are Spiritual Beings having a Human Experience!”

As counselors, mentors or sponsors, we merely point the way, we show the path, and hope that inspiration will emerge through a moment of clarity. Somehow for a brief moment in time the ego is disconnected and consciousness is opened up to the energy of the universe, then “click” the light bulb turns on, realization takes place and inspiration is born. We try to provide an experience that will be a catalyst to inspiration, we point the way; we show the path to the seer.

“Truth has nothing to do with words. Truth can be likened to the bright moon in the sky. Words, in this case, can be likened to a finger. The finger can point to the moon’s location. However, the finger is not the moon. To look at the moon, it is necessary to gaze beyond the finger, right?”

Real recovery from drug and alcohol addiction will not take place until we look beyond the pointing finger, until it becomes a realization and the person’s own idea. Something different happens to each and every one of us, it could be triggered by a vision a site a sound that can bring an awakening to senses.

That’s all for now,

Balance and Blessings
